Also, if Donna is a problem for you, you're going to miss out on a lot of great PITB's!

I know many of the better PITB's happened when she was in the band, but she added nothing to the song (just my opinion). There is nothing worse than coming down off of a real heady trip, listening to a beautiful Playing and Donna can't hear herself in the monitor so she belts out her signature off-key scream and waked up the neighbors kids.

Back in the 80's my brother and I wanted to develop a new type of noise reduction. You remember Dolby B & C, right? We wanted to create Dolby D. You hit the button and it filters out Donna!

My apologies to the Donna lovers out there

I agree for the most part -- especially if you replace the word "many" in your first sentence with "all."

As HAL said... I'm sorry, I can't do that Dave.

Especially since I saw some fantastic PITBs in the 80's and I mostly avoid 76-79. There was a raw "something" missing from much of those years.

Playin is a song that was great throughout most of the band's time touring. I just think that the best ones happened during 1972-74.

Agreed about the 72-74 range. Just not the entire 70s

I don't find too many compelling versions of PITB from '76-'79 myself, though I haven't heard them all. The best, far and away, are '72-'74, when there was nary a disappointing version in sight; however I do find many from the '80s and even a couple from the '90s to be quite satisfying.
